EC&I Maintenance Team Leader
Salary – Competative
Hours – 40 hours per week, 08:00am to 16:30pm
Location – Lostock, CW9 7ZR

As an EC&I Maintenance Team Leader at FCC Environment, you will lead the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) section of the maintenance team, ensuring plant reliability and high standards of safety, compliance, and performance. You’ll be responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating the team and activities required to meet operational and engineering targets in a dynamic, safety-first environment.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

Leading the EC&I maintenance team and supporting the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day operations
Coordinating planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across plant equipment
Overseeing maintenance contractors and support organisations
Developing staff through appraisals, training, and dual-skilling initiatives
Planning and managing outages, budgets, and maintenance of critical EC&I spares
Acting as a HV selected person and contributing to safe and efficient HV maintenance up to 132kV
Maintaining quality control and adherence to HSE standards, actively participating in HSE initiatives and forums
Supporting other UK stations if required and standing in for the Maintenance Manager when needed
Driving improvements in plant operations, team performance, and system reliability
Managing maintenance projects and contributing to the overall success of the EfW operation
Contributing to improvement projects, streamlining maintenance processes and enhancing system safety
Being on-call and providing leadership during dynamic conditions (e.g., plant start-ups or faults)

Essential Experience:

HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
A minimum of five years’ EC&I Power Plant Maintenance experience in a supervisory role
Strong working knowledge of thermal plant operations and systems
Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance – NEBOSH or IOSH preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional, safety-focused environment
Hands-on approach with the ability to manage a team and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Computer literacy, including MS Office and ERP/CMMS systems
Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
